Non-medical home care, family or friend caregiver support, and guidance for families navigating Michigan home care programs

What We Help With

Selected Care helps families who may need support at home — whether through a family member or friend becoming a paid caregiver, agency-supported services, or simply needing help understanding what's available. Below are the specific areas we focus on.

Help with Daily Living

Support with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, meals, toileting, transfers, and the everyday routines that make staying at home possible.

Light Housekeeping and Errands

Help with meal preparation, laundry, shopping, errands, and basic household tasks — to the extent these are covered under the applicable program.

Family and Friend Caregiver Support

Guidance for families where a loved one may qualify to become a paid caregiver. We help explain the requirements and walk through the steps.

Agency-Supported Care

For clients who don't have a family or friend caregiver available, we may help arrange agency-supported care to fit your situation.

Michigan Home Help Guidance

Helping families understand the Michigan Home Help program — eligibility, caregiver requirements, the application process, and what to expect along the way.

What Selected Care Doesn't Do

We want to be clear about what's in scope and what isn't, so families know what to expect.

Selected Care provides non-medical home care. We do not provide skilled nursing, medication administration, wound care, therapy services, or any other medical care that requires a licensed clinician. If your loved one needs medical home health care, we may be able to help you find an appropriate provider.

We also don't determine eligibility, approve caregivers, or set service hours. Those decisions are made by program administrators and health plans.

A Note on Services and Program Rules

The specific services available to your loved one, the number of hours covered, and whether a particular caregiver is approved depend on program rules and individual approval — not on Selected Care. We help families understand and prepare for these processes, but the final decisions are made by others.
